Rise and Learn: Protect Your Small Business Against Scams, Fraud, and Data Breaches
Running a business takes dedication and hard work. Don’t let scams, fraud, or data breaches jeopardize your reputation, bottom line, or the trust of your customers and employees. Protecting your business is essential, and the Wisconsin Bureau of Consumer Protection offers vital guidance to help. They will discuss the warning signs of scams, prevention strategies, and steps to take if your business becomes a victim. Additionally, they’ll cover the causes of business identity theft and data breaches, why small businesses are frequent targets, and best practices for minimizing risks. Learn how to identify vulnerabilities and establish strong data privacy and security policies to safeguard your company and valued customers.
Jeff Kersten, the Agency Liaison for the Bureau of Consumer Protection within the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection is joining us for a special edition of Rise and Learn. With over 12 years of experience as a police officer and a background as a Consumer Protection Investigator, Jeff travels statewide to educate the public, businesses, and law enforcement on privacy protection, data security, identity theft, and other areas of consumer protection.
